Spanish War Monument

This monument was created by artist Raymond Porter in 1929.  The plaque reads as follows:

IN HONOR OF THE VOLUNTEERS FROM SOMERVILLE WHO SERVED  ON LAND AND SEA IN THE WAR WITH SPAIN, THE PHILIPPINE INSURRECTION AND THE CHINA RELIEF EXPEDITION 1898-1902

ERECTED 1929
